I graduated from Ohio University in 1973 and in 1976 married and moved to New Haven Connecticut.  For 32 years I worked for Yale University creating an office operation for Conference Services and Summer Programs.  In retirement I am an amateur painter and certified Life Coach, both of which I enjoy, as I did my career at Yale.  I have two children - a son, Nick, in Long Beach California and daughter, Nancy who lives in North Arlington with her husband and two boys - ages two and 4 months. Divorced from my first husband long ago, my husband Len and I are married almost 30 years. Send Susan a MessageSend Susan a Message

Art Therapist / annareyner.wordpress.com Married 2
I am recently retired and enjoying life in Los Angeles where I have lived for 30 years with my husband, Alan.  We have two wonderful grown children, Lillie and Morris.  I have continued to make art a central part of my life, ever since Mr. Arington (W&L Art Teacher circa 1967-69) helped me realize art was my life's passion and pleasure.  After graduating with a BFA in art from Ohio Wesleyan, I went into the Peace Corps, then returned to get an MA in Art Therapy from the Univ of Louisville.  I met my husband while working as an Art Therapist at Fairfax Hospital and had planned to settle down permanently in Alexandria...but then my husband enrolled in a residency program in LA so we moved here and have stayed happily ever since. On a more personal note, I have been sober for 11 years and enjoy freedom from my overdependence on wine for stress relief.  I do a lot of gardening and creative projects to replace that.  Our son developed a serious mental illness in college, so we have that big challenge but are facing it with all the maturity and acceptance we can muster.  He has recovered a lot in the past 6 years after much initial roller coasting. That has been my biggest life challenge but thankfully it has not taken me down yet!  I am an active member of NAMI and welcome the opportunity to talk about mental wellness and help reduce the stigma of mental illness.  Down with stigma!  Booooo to stereotypes... we must keep our humor as we face what life throws at us....especially the big curve balls.
Meanwhile, I look forward to joining my oldest best friend Joanna Chobot at the 50th reunion this Fall.  Having lived on the West Coast half my life,  I feel especially nostalgic returning back to Arlington.  But I remember how much we enjoyed the 40th reunion and I look forward to more smiles and hugs and good times.  Anna

Retired from Capitol Hill & Aspen Institute Married
After college I stayed in the DC area, living in Arlington and the City of Alexandria.  I worked in the US House of Representatives for 16 years and then went to work for the Aspen Institute's Congressional Program for 23 years.  In 2009 my husband, Lloyd Allen, and I built a house in Pinehurst, NC.  I retired at the end of 2010 and we moved south, as planned.  Lloyd continued to work from home until 2015 when he retired.  He has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren in Maryland.  We absolutely LOVE Pinehurst and North Carolina.  Who knew I was really a small town girl at heart.   Send Diane a MessageSend Diane a Message

Retired Career Counselor Married
Hello.  I chose Criminal Justice as my degree at VCU...somewhat unusual for a woman back then and not readily accepted!  Changed direction and moved to Berkeley CA.  Great experiences including a Masters in Career Development.  Career Counselor for so many people and situations.  Loved it!  Returned to  Virginia in 1986 and met my dear husband, Steve.  Married 31 years.  Career sent us to Denver CO for 16 years.  Sense of adventure led us to Granbury, TX, near Fort Worth.  Recently, USA Today bestowed the title of “Best Small Historical Town in the U.S.” on us!  Having lived most of my life in large cities, I am very content living this different lifestyle.  People really are very friendly down here!   Hobbies include maintaining my long lasting friendships, travel, playing/teaching piano, and always up for “what’s around the next corner?”  Life has been good to me and I look forward to the 50th reunion!
