Design and Construction Married 3
It's a long way from Washington-Lee days but I think back on it with happy memories. The friends I made meant a lot to me and the fun we had at sports, sports events and dances was wonderful. Dances at school, the crew boathouse, Mt. Olive church, all great memories. Yes, there was Debi, my first love, but didn't we have a class of beautiful girls?! Anyway, my life has spun me through many places and occupations since those days, so I'll spin through them as fast as I can just to get it done fast and not bore you with too much. After college I made pots for Colonial Williamsburg and fired kilns for awhile, took off for the Rockies and worked as a mechanic in a molybdenum mine until '76. Then off to the Appalachians, Highland and Pendleton Counties specifically, on the Va/WVa border, where I tried to make a go of homesteading. After almost 5 wonderful years, the winter of 1980 found me unable to walk due to a back injury so in '81 I had to accept failure in that endeavor due to the physical hardships living in the mountains. But I still needed to earn enough to make mortgage payments on the land, so I went to visit my parents in Germany, found the country littered with U.S. Army kasernes and landed a job in one of them between Heidelberg and Mannheim doing construction management for the Corps of Engineers. During the 5 years there, I met my darling wife, Ada, who hails from Maastricht, and we started a family in '85. I decided it would be good to get career status, so we moved back to Virginia in '86 where I did the Corps projects at Vint Hill near Warrenton, then a Fish and Wildlife project near Shepherdstown until '98, while living in Front Royal. Work dried up out there, so I took another job in Heidelberg and off we, now 5 (2 daughters and a son) went until 2007, then Mons, Belgium until '09. It was a rich experience and the jobs as well, as I did 4 deployments to both Bosnia and Israel in addition to working army projects in and around Heidelberg/Mannheim/Darmstadt and Kaiserslautern. But oh Israel! Family tethers finally brought us back to Virginia and a job at HQ. After 7 years I couldn't take the bureaucracy anymore so I retired. As fate had it, I got a call from Norfolk Corps office asking me to help out at Arlington National Cemetery, so I said OK. I was kind of missing the feeling of purpose one gets in doing for others and not just Ada and me. So since '17, I've been the PM for the big Southern Expansion project at ANC. Back in the bureacracy again. But it's for a good cause and that extra paycheck has been helpful with house upgrades, etc. Anyway, looking forward to seeing old friends and acquaintences on the 5th! Retired Married
After WLHS, graduated from VA Tech with a BS degree in Business Management.  Worked in a few jobs before accepting a job with the Internal Revenue Service.  My IRS career was in the administrative side; working with systems analysis, integrated management systems, and financial management. A good career, enjoyed the variety of work.  Married and enjoy travelling with my husband Art.  Retired and picked up an old hobby – crochet.  Make hats and scarves for veterans with a group at the Arlington-Fairfax Elks. Keep busy with genealogy, researching and visiting places around the country. Travelled overseas with friends to Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean.  Life is good. Patent Attorney http://www.dewittllp.com/our-people/charles-sara Married 2
After graduation, spent 4 years at UNC, followed by 2 years teaching and coaching at Fork Union Military Academy (VA).  Thinking I should try something new, I went to VA Tech to pursue veterinary study and ended up in the Dairy Science Dept.  A few years later, I took a left turn and went to law school at George Mason.  During law school, I met and married Mary.  I also found out that my science backrground allowed me to pursue patent law, which seemed appealing considering only one other student in my class could do this.  I figured those were good odds at finding a job when I graduated.  It worked.  Following graduation, I practiced in Old Town Alexandria for a few years until we had our first child Jenny.  We started looking for a less crowded place to raise children and ended up in Madison, WI, where I am now.  Another daughter Allison came our way along with several dogs and cats.  Now, I'm 30 years into my practice and thinking about transitioning into a new career (retirement?).  Both girls are out of the house and Mary and I have 3 grandsons (6, 4 and 1 month).  Other than the times of the polar vortex, Madison's a nice place to live.  Hobbies: bicycling, motorcycle, photography and banjo.  I enjoyed getting back into Bluegrass.   Send Chuck a MessageSend Chuck a Message

computer programmer Married 2
After high school, I attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and graduated in 1972 with a BA in mathematics. Returning to the Washington D.C. area I worked for several years before moving to the Boston area in 1978 where I met my future wife, Cathie, in 1983. We have been married for nearly 35 years and have two children: Genevieve and Jeremy. Except for 4 years living in Germany in the 80s, I have been living in the Boston area. I recently retired from a 47-year long career that has involved different aspects of computer programming / software engineering that has ranged from mainframe computers in the 70s to today’s personal computers. Early in my career, I was employed by a number of private industry companies working on military intelligence related projects. For the last 29 years, I was employed by MITRE, a not-for-profit company working in the public interest. For over 35 years, my wife and I have been active in International folk dancing/singing groups focusing mostly on Balkan countries. I play the mandolin and sing with a Bulgarian men’s group. In retirement I have been spending my time dancing, singing, playing golf, and traveling abroad. Send Bradford a MessageSend Bradford a Message

Substitute Office Manager Single
After graduating I attended Madison College (now JMU) and graduated with a Major in Elementary Ed.  I taught school in Fredericksburg, VA for a year and then returned to Arlington and began my Federal Career with the Navy at the Navy Annex.  When the Navy decided to move to the Memphis area I did not want to move with them so was blessed to find a job with Army right around the corner at then what was called Fort Myer.  I retired from there after  34 years of  Federal Service.  After taking about a month’s break  I began working as a full-time Branch Office Administrator (BOA) for Edward Jones Investments.  But after working a year and a half I decided to take a part time position as an on-call BOA.  I had worked full time with no breaks for over 34 years so it was time to go part time in this unique temp position within the company.  I really enjoy it because I work in different offices in the DC area, have met some great people and love the variety.  I also love my time off!  I have been blessed to travel to many interesting and exotic places.  My travels have included visiting the Holy Land twice (last trip included Petra, Jordan, the Sinai Peninsula and Cairo, Egypt), visiting the Philippines with a friend, a cruise around South America, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Poland, Spain and Portugal, Italy, Alpine Region, Galápagos Islands, Ireland, Greece, Australia and New Zealand and others.  I enjoyed a Girls Road Trip to Ohio this summer.  I am planning a trip to the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany with visits to Prague, Bratislava, Budapest and Vienna next year.  I am very involved in my church, St James Catholic, in Falls Church and recently became a co-leader of our charismatic prayer group. (Part of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal).  I am also involved in a Bible Study and a lector (reader of Scripture).   I also was blessed to attend the 40th anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal jubilee in Rome in 2017  where we stood praising the Lord on the very grounds where Christians were tortured and killed many, many years ago.  I am still involved in the Christian interdenominational Kairos Prison Ministry and recently picked my guitar back up and am assisting with the music.  I enjoy doing aerobics with Body and Soul ministries and get my swim time in during the summer.  I also enjoy trying different ethnic restaurants with friends, writing, going to festivals, concerts and craft shows.  I love spending time with friends and family.  I recently lost my sister-in-law Kris so am trying to support my brother as much as I can and be there for
him.   I am owned by a beautiful tuxedo kitty girl named Waffles who was given to me by one of my Kairos sisters!  I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and catching up!
