Retired Married
After graduating from W&L I went to Univ of South Florida in Tampa and graduated in 1974 with a BA in psychology.  While at the university, I was introduced to skydiving.  For the next 35-36  years, I did little else in my spare time, I was truly addicted to the sport.  In 1976, I returned to the northern Va area and attendeed Computer Learning Center which led to my career (IT) until retirement in 2012.  Along the way, I met my wife on a ski trip.  We've been married for 27 years.  No kids ( we got married at age 40 and figured we had missed that window).  We bought a house in Falls Church which we still live in.  I quit jumping about 10 years ago after about 2,100 jumps. Now, I'm playing guitar and doing a self-study in nuclear and Quantum physics to keep my brain functional.  My wife spent many years in the Foreign Service, then switched to Civil Service w/State Dept.  She retired 6 months after I did. Dept of Defense Consultant Married 1
It has been a long road but in so many ways a blink of the eye.  I can remember growing up thinking in the year 2000, I will by 50 years old!  And here we are in 2019.  After W-L, I went to Virgina Tech where I studied chemistry.  Viet Nam called so I preferred serving using the chemistry I learned and ended up in Admiral Rickover's nuclear Navy on submarines.  Thinking I would do my 6 years and get out, I took to submarining and finally retired form the Navy after 31 years.  I served on four submarines, commanding the USS Seahorse (the thoroughbred of the fleet) along with commands at Submarine Base, Kings Bay Georgia; Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and a swan song as Professor of Naval Science at Cornell.
I am still working as a subject matter expert (SME) for special weapons and serve as a consultant on them to DoD.
I am a life long model railroader (now gone digital) and am passionate about Cosmology, the study of the universe.  All of Washington's teams stink so I gave up being a sports fan (sore loser) and just enjoy what life gives me.

Writer/Editor bluecardinalpress.com Married 3
I started out at U. Va. in the fall of ’68. Did two years there, but did not finish due to family circumstances. Graduated with a BS in business from George Mason, then followed that up with an MBA (also from Mason). Most of my career focused on marketing and communications in various capacities. This path started out in the banking industry, transitioned to the hospitality field, then to construction management, and concluded as senior writer for a multimedia company specializing in technical training and informational videos and manuals. Along the way I did a fair amount of freelance consulting and writing for a variety of clients as well as a few years as an adjunct professor of business at NVCC (Woodbridge campus).

The most significant development in my personal life has proven to be rekindling my enthusiasm for equestrian activities. Although stuck growing up in the Arlington suburbs, I was a horse crazy kid from an early age. Some of you might remember the W-L riding club, The Mounted Generals. I spent many weekends riding in Rock Creek Park and in what was then the open country of Fairfax County. College, grad school, career, and family responsibilities put my equestrian pursuits on hold. But after a long hiatus I returned to it about 25 years ago, got involved in foxhunting, and horses have since become the central focus of my life, both as a hobby and writing about horse sports professionally.

I’m now mostly retired, living on a small horse farm in Culpeper County with my wonderful wife, Ellen. We have four horses and ride most every day. Handling all the horse care duties and farm upkeep is a great way to say healthy and fit! I’ve written two books (foxhunting-themed novels) with a third on the way. (www.BlueCardinalPress.com.) I have two children (son and daughter), a stepdaughter, and two grandchildren. Life is good!
