School Bus Driver Married 3
The best thing that ever happened to me was in 1974, when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  The second best thing was a year later when I married Candy.  We have been happily married for 44 years.  We have three children who, unlike me, completed college and have great jobs. Over the years, I have been a furniture repairman, cattle farm worker, logger (in Oregon), VW technician (30 years), self-employed handyman,& plumber,  and now a school bus driver. Art Therapist / annareyner.wordpress.com Married 2
I am recently retired and enjoying life in Los Angeles where I have lived for 30 years with my husband, Alan.  We have two wonderful grown children, Lillie and Morris.  I have continued to make art a central part of my life, ever since Mr. Arington (W&L Art Teacher circa 1967-69) helped me realize art was my life's passion and pleasure.  After graduating with a BFA in art from Ohio Wesleyan, I went into the Peace Corps, then returned to get an MA in Art Therapy from the Univ of Louisville.  I met my husband while working as an Art Therapist at Fairfax Hospital and had planned to settle down permanently in Alexandria...but then my husband enrolled in a residency program in LA so we moved here and have stayed happily ever since. On a more personal note, I have been sober for 11 years and enjoy freedom from my overdependence on wine for stress relief.  I do a lot of gardening and creative projects to replace that.  Our son developed a serious mental illness in college, so we have that big challenge but are facing it with all the maturity and acceptance we can muster.  He has recovered a lot in the past 6 years after much initial roller coasting. That has been my biggest life challenge but thankfully it has not taken me down yet!  I am an active member of NAMI and welcome the opportunity to talk about mental wellness and help reduce the stigma of mental illness.  Down with stigma!  Booooo to stereotypes... we must keep our humor as we face what life throws at us....especially the big curve balls.
Meanwhile, I look forward to joining my oldest best friend Joanna Chobot at the 50th reunion this Fall.  Having lived on the West Coast half my life,  I feel especially nostalgic returning back to Arlington.  But I remember how much we enjoyed the 40th reunion and I look forward to more smiles and hugs and good times.  Anna

Clinical social worker Married 2
I'm semi-retired from working in a solo practice in clinical social work for over 30 years. Thanks to my life partner, I've been able to work part-time a lot while raising my two wonderful sons and now spend my spare time doing social justice and advocacy work with the UU Church and the League of Women Voters in Massachusetts. I also have time for singing again and can still putter around my garden. I am really enjoying this stage of life! Send Patty a MessageSend Patty a Message

Retired Career Counselor Married
Hello.  I chose Criminal Justice as my degree at VCU...somewhat unusual for a woman back then and not readily accepted!  Changed direction and moved to Berkeley CA.  Great experiences including a Masters in Career Development.  Career Counselor for so many people and situations.  Loved it!  Returned to  Virginia in 1986 and met my dear husband, Steve.  Married 31 years.  Career sent us to Denver CO for 16 years.  Sense of adventure led us to Granbury, TX, near Fort Worth.  Recently, USA Today bestowed the title of “Best Small Historical Town in the U.S.” on us!  Having lived most of my life in large cities, I am very content living this different lifestyle.  People really are very friendly down here!   Hobbies include maintaining my long lasting friendships, travel, playing/teaching piano, and always up for “what’s around the next corner?”  Life has been good to me and I look forward to the 50th reunion! Retired Married
After graduating from W&L I went to Univ of South Florida in Tampa and graduated in 1974 with a BA in psychology.  While at the university, I was introduced to skydiving.  For the next 35-36  years, I did little else in my spare time, I was truly addicted to the sport.  In 1976, I returned to the northern Va area and attendeed Computer Learning Center which led to my career (IT) until retirement in 2012.  Along the way, I met my wife on a ski trip.  We've been married for 27 years.  No kids ( we got married at age 40 and figured we had missed that window).  We bought a house in Falls Church which we still live in.  I quit jumping about 10 years ago after about 2,100 jumps. Now, I'm playing guitar and doing a self-study in nuclear and Quantum physics to keep my brain functional.  My wife spent many years in the Foreign Service, then switched to Civil Service w/State Dept.  She retired 6 months after I did.
