Elections Married 5
Following my years at W-L, I obtained a degree in "Secretarial Science" at NOVA and then began work with the Arlington County Planning Commission as their secretary/stenographer.  During my eight-year stint with the Planning Commission,  I met and married my sweetheart (Yorktown '68) through common friends.  I put my career on hold to have a family, and after our fifth child left for college,  went back to work , this time working for Prince William County in their Office of Elections.  It is a job I love and is both physically and mentally demanding, especially during election season.  My husband retired this past April, so I think about retirement all the time, but just haven't been able to give up the fun.  My life is full with love for family and worthwhile work.

I'm still playing my flute for fun and occasionally play fife and tin whistle as well.

Artist/Art Teacher Married 2
I received a BFA in studio art from George Washington University as part of a partnership with the Corcoran Gallery School. I taught art in middle school in Arlington and elementary school in Maryland. I started, ran and taught in a neighborhood camp and ran my own clay program for children. I married Dick young 48 years ago, we have lived in Chevy Chase, MD for 36 years. We have two grown children, who grew up catching crayfish, swimming and eating good food at our weekend farm in the Shenandoah Valley. Katie who is married to Ethan has a daughter Eloise and lives in Silver Spring.  Our son, Jon, lives in Southern California.  I am pleased to say that both of them work doing good for people.
I retired a few years ago and have been able to spend more time doing exercise, yoga and painting. I enjoy making art with my granddaughter at home and at her school. I teach art and clay to people older than me where my 93-year-old Mother lives. I have learned from my students how important the creative process is in aging.
I am lucky to have had many travel adventures around the world meeting many interesting people.
My family enjoys snorkeling and diving, and Jon surfing, at our house in Rincon, Puerto Rico. Through Dick’s work in Community Health Centers, we have been able to meet many wonderful people and become contributing members to our community in PR.
I am looking forward to catching up at the reunion. I have lots of good memories from my time at W-L. My best friend from W-L, Harry Grimmnitz, will not be in attendance. His daughter just gave birth to another Eloise. Who knew when we were dating in HS that we would both have granddaughters named Eloise!
I was on the big screen at the Wild Card game at Nat’s Park last night. Go Nats!!!

Retired Divorced 1
Upon graduating from high school, I entered Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. There I received my BA in French with a minor in Spanish. While at Bennett, I spent my junior year abroad  at the Université de Neuchâtel in Switzerland. After graduating from college, I was invited to attend the University of Rochester, receiving my MA in Romance Linguistics.
Returning home to Arlington, I was hired by APS. I retired after thirty-eight years of service, as a classroom teacher, central office administrator and school-based administrator. My last assignment was the principal of Thomas Jefferson Middle School, where I and my staff established the Miidle Years IB Program. My most notable recognition was Arlington’s nominee as The Washington Post Principals of Excellence. WHAT A WONDERFUL CAREER!
In retirement, I get lots of exercise, playing tennis, golf, bowling and working out regularly. I am active in my church in Alington, where I have been a member for 69  years.

I changed careers in 1997 and started programming database applications as a self-employed contractor. I just recently retired and am currently working on all of the to-do tasks around the house. Psychologist/Mediator/Coach/Consultant hamlclinicalassociates.com Married 2
I recently read The Cat from Hue, a Vietnam memoir. It literally spans my W-L career. It helped me remember way-back-when and it aided me in putting myself in context. I am amazed by how little I knew back then. I’m a bit startled by how little I understood back then.

The subsequent fifty years of steps and missteps have taken me to a nicely settled place. I live in Cambridge Massachusetts. Recently, my wife, Judi, and I decided to cut back on our workloads.  So far, this has only resulted in us cramming five days of work into four – hey, it’s a process. So we continue on, Judi as an investment portfolio manager and me as a psychologist and mediator. In our spare time we enjoy life, play tennis and get together with friends.

Two sons have proven to be nice people, good citizens and pursuing meaningful work. Andy is in real estate development and management and Jeff (despite my pleadings) is a social worker. Three up-and-about grandchildren – Charlie (6), Mimi (4) and Milo (2) – teach me something new every time I’m with them.

I have had the remarkable good fortune of being self-employed since the age of 32. Benefitting from an understanding boss and aided by wonderful mentors and colleagues, I have pursued a variety of interests. In my long career, I am most proud of my pro bono work and the positive outcomes tied to my efforts.

In my private time, pursuits range from being a judge at the annual Massachusetts State Science and Engineering Fair to getting involved with the issue of low income housing.

Final note: the pictures are intended to pay homage to Mario's (Pizza). The "NOW" picture is a recently taken picture of me in the Mario's 40th anniversary (1998) t-shirt. Clearly, going to Mario's from a very early age was a "critical event" in my development.
