Dept of Defense Consultant Married 1
It has been a long road but in so many ways a blink of the eye.  I can remember growing up thinking in the year 2000, I will by 50 years old!  And here we are in 2019.  After W-L, I went to Virgina Tech where I studied chemistry.  Viet Nam called so I preferred serving using the chemistry I learned and ended up in Admiral Rickover's nuclear Navy on submarines.  Thinking I would do my 6 years and get out, I took to submarining and finally retired form the Navy after 31 years.  I served on four submarines, commanding the USS Seahorse (the thoroughbred of the fleet) along with commands at Submarine Base, Kings Bay Georgia; Naval Shipyard, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and a swan song as Professor of Naval Science at Cornell.
I am still working as a subject matter expert (SME) for special weapons and serve as a consultant on them to DoD.
I am a life long model railroader (now gone digital) and am passionate about Cosmology, the study of the universe.  All of Washington's teams stink so I gave up being a sports fan (sore loser) and just enjoy what life gives me.

Writer/Editor bluecardinalpress.com Married 3
I started out at U. Va. in the fall of ’68. Did two years there, but did not finish due to family circumstances. Graduated with a BS in business from George Mason, then followed that up with an MBA (also from Mason). Most of my career focused on marketing and communications in various capacities. This path started out in the banking industry, transitioned to the hospitality field, then to construction management, and concluded as senior writer for a multimedia company specializing in technical training and informational videos and manuals. Along the way I did a fair amount of freelance consulting and writing for a variety of clients as well as a few years as an adjunct professor of business at NVCC (Woodbridge campus).

The most significant development in my personal life has proven to be rekindling my enthusiasm for equestrian activities. Although stuck growing up in the Arlington suburbs, I was a horse crazy kid from an early age. Some of you might remember the W-L riding club, The Mounted Generals. I spent many weekends riding in Rock Creek Park and in what was then the open country of Fairfax County. College, grad school, career, and family responsibilities put my equestrian pursuits on hold. But after a long hiatus I returned to it about 25 years ago, got involved in foxhunting, and horses have since become the central focus of my life, both as a hobby and writing about horse sports professionally.

I’m now mostly retired, living on a small horse farm in Culpeper County with my wonderful wife, Ellen. We have four horses and ride most every day. Handling all the horse care duties and farm upkeep is a great way to say healthy and fit! I’ve written two books (foxhunting-themed novels) with a third on the way. (www.BlueCardinalPress.com.) I have two children (son and daughter), a stepdaughter, and two grandchildren. Life is good!

Retired Widowed 2
I'm pretty much a perpetual student starting with two years at William and Mary. Did finally get an associate degree in Ornamental Horticulture in 1999. Turns out Algebra and Chemistry are things you can actually use in real life.  Met my husband David in Flagstaff while going to Northern Arizona University 1973. He was one of the carpenter's building married housing. Moved back to Boise, where David grew up. Had two daughters - both grownups now with careers and everything. One Grandchild. He's graduating from High School in May. How is that possible? In Boise, we both went back to college, except David actually got a degree - in Accounting. He joined Morrison Knudsen 1977, a large construction company, and we started seeing the United States starting with a year in Hawaii rebuilding a military base. Ending in Arkansas distroying Chemical Weapons. Meanwhile I did whatever was available at the time - mostly Motherhood, College classes, Secretarial, Curves trainer, Plant Nursery salesperson, Botanical Garden plant inventory, City Tree enumerator. David died of a brain tumor in 2014.  I've been a parent caretaker  with my siblings since then. My Mom died in 2017 but my 94 year old Dad is going strong. I'm loving living in Colorado hiking in the wildflowers with my Dog Hansel and friends.  Currently buying Solar Panels and driving a hybrid not because I think we can stop "Climate Disruption" at this point but because I'd like to step out in my backyard and take a deep breath of clean air instead of whatever that stuff is I'm breathing and drinking. Therapist Married 2

In the 50+ years since graduation, I lived in California where I worked with start-ups in Silicon Valley and received a BA in Management. In the 1990s I studied mindfulness, ordained as a Buddhist nun in Asia to practice mindfulness for a period of time, and seeing how transformative it can be for physical and emotional stress, returned to the US, and got a master’s degree in Counseling to specialize in mindfulness based cognitive therapies. I lived in New Mexico for 15 years where I co-founded a volunteer center, worked in the state women’s prison as a mental health therapist and mindfulness teacher, and developed a private practice. Today I live in St Petersburg, Florida with my husband Miguel and our dog Lucy. I have 2 stepchildren and 2 grandchildren. I am a Counselor in hospice, and have a small private practice.

Graduated from Westhampton College (University of Richmond) in 1972 with a BA in Music History and Theory. Intended to go to grad school for Music Therapy, but married, moved to Okinawa for two years while my ex was in Army JAG, had our first son. Then back to Ft. Moved back to Arlington in 1983, met and married my 2nd husband. Worked as a preschool teacher, then assistant director.  Had another son. Worked at a crisis preganncy center as the Volunteer Coordinator and as a counselor. Did other small jobs in between. Taught aerobics and owned my own company with two others. Finally ended up working at W-L, first in the counseling office and then the main office. Lived through the rebuild in 2008. All 4 of my kids went to W-L where they were involved in music and sports. Now 3 of the 4 are married, and we have 7 grandchildren and 4 stepgrandchildren. I'm happily retired and work during baseball season at Nationals Park! I also have two direct sales businesses.
